iPhone 5 release date: New features about the Apple iPhone 5 may be confirmed

New information has just came in from the world renowned agency Reuters, saying that yesterday the subsidiary of LG, LG display, just started the production of a smartphone screen that measured 4 inches exactly.

"We just began mass production and we don't expect any disruption in supplies," said Han Sang-beom, chief executive of LG Display, a panel supplier for Apple products, told reporters late on Wednesday.

According to Reuters, the screen of the iPhone 5 will be equipped with in-cell technology that incorporates tactile sensors, and reduces the size of the screen by removing a useless layer. It would therefore gain finesse, allowing the increase of space inside the iPhone 5 for components. It will also reduce the height of the new smartphone and make it thinner. The screen of the iPhone 5 using the in-cell technology seems to confirm previous rumors, which so far have been difficult to verify.

With the iPhone 5 release date announcement scheduled for Sept. 12th, the iPhone 5 will be equipped with a revamped design. The 4-inch screen will be now produced by LG Display, and it increases by 30 percent, compared to the size of the iPhone 4S screen. The iPhone 5 will still be smaller than the Samsung Galaxy S3, which measures 4.8 inches.

However, Reuters did not confirm that these are indeed screens for iPhone 5, although they strongly implied this. Similarly, LG does not disclose any information about its customers, but it is no doubt that it is indeed Apple. Apple requires large quantities to meet the demand surrounding the iPhone 5.

Not too long ago, the Japanese company Sharp supposedly started production of the screen for iPhone 5, well before the company LG Display. Although, at the time there were some doubts.
