Pre-orders for the new iPhone 5 went live yesterday, and as expected, it went off to a great start for Apple selling the newest iPhone like hotcakes. Problem is, if you weren't fast enough to grab a pre-order on the Apple Online Store when it first started yesterday, you're going to have to wait much longer now (2 more weeks, to be specific) to get that new smartphone device.
In fact, Apple's spokesperson Natalie Kerris had said, "Pre-orders for iPhone 5 have been incredible. We've been completely blown away by the customer response." Apple reportedly sold out its initial iPhone 5 supply in less than an hour. Wow, that's pretty remarkable, especially compared with the 22 hours the iPhone 4S took to sell out in its pre-order stage last year.
Supplies of the new iPhone 5 at Apple's wireless carrier partners in the U.S. (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T) seemed to hold up a bit longer, as they, too, began giving their customers longer shipping dates. Verizon Wireless is now promising to deliver the iPhone 5 by September 28. Sprint's website, on the other hand, was promising September 21 delivery of the 32GB and 64GB models, though it said the 16GB model will not be delivered for up to 2 weeks. By Friday evening, AT&T's online store gave a shipping estimate of 2 to 3 weeks. Of course, these infos might change at any time, so I'd suggest to occassionally check with those carriers for the latest updates.
Meanwhile, a leading technology and gadgets news site has a very helpful and spicy article about the new iPhone 5 pre-order and ordering tips that you may want to try. You can read that site's very interesting article here. You may also want to read other exciting Apple-related news and buzz here.
Moreover, Apple's stock shot up to its newest high, $696.98 a share, after the company opened up the pre-ordering line for its newest version of the iPhone. Amazing!
Finally, you may still try your luck getting a piece of the coveted new iPhone 5 by doing the old-fashioned style of standing and waiting in line outside any official Apple Stores starting 8 a.m. ( on your local time) on September 21, 2012. Please feel free to share this article to all your family and friends who absolutely love Apple and fans of the iPhone. They'll be glad you did.
