Apple announced its iOS 6 a while back filled with new and updated featuers and on Sept. 12th 2012 announced the much anticipated iPhone 5. People have speculated what the iPhone 5 will have for hardware and now we know. The rumor mill from countless websites had nearly all the info that Apple released but it takes time to filter through it and figure out what will be on the new phone. For those dedicated Apple followers that researched what the iPhone 5 might have prior to the announcement, the responses were mixed. For the less than techie approach it just looks like a longer phone that boast a bunch of stats that don't mean much. Here is a break down why the new iPhone 5 is the best yet.
The screen is bigger, though not as many had expected it. Apple now has its iPhone retina display on the 4 inch form factor that is longer rather than wider like other smart phones. So the questions of 'why would they do it this way?' have been a common question and there is a good reason for it. Phones like the Samsung Galaxy S3, Motorola Atrix and many other phones while nice to look at and are comfortable to hold in your hand tend to have a problem. Buttons you need to press in the upper left, or upper right for the left handers, tend to be a stretch for someone with less than large hands if they are using only one hand on the phone. The iPhone 5's thinner screen will fit comfortably in the hand while allowing you the range to press all the buttons necessary regardless of where they are on the screen.
The speakers, camera and flash have all been upgraded on the phone, as is commonplace for upgrades with Apple's devices. The camera is designed to work better in low light, the flash is more substantial and the speakers are better quality both in volume and sound quality.
LTE 4G is standard in the phone which is something Apple couldn't afford to avoid for another rendition of the iPhone. LTE 4G speeds are much higher than that of any rendition of 3G, speeds average for the common user in 4G areas around 20Mbps down! That's faster that most internet connections in homes, unless you happen to be on Verizon FiOS or are willing to pay more of a premium from other providers.
If you aren't a long time fan of Apple you might not have notice that once Apple fines a design people love and that works well they keep it. The iPhone 5 doesn't have a vastly different look but is better in design than its predecessors. Made of Aluminum and Glass, the phone is lighter than the previous phones and with the aluminum backing should be able with absorb a drop better than the glass on the iPhone 4 and 4S.
Lastly, the most important of them all, the hardware inside the phone has been upgraded, running Apples A6 processor which can be up to twice as fast as the iPhone 4S' A5 processor. It is also smaller which gives Apple more room in the case for other items or bigger batteries. Apple also changed from the old large dock style connector which means many old accessories will require an adapter and people will need to get new cables for spares.
Apples iPhone 5 is sure to be the best yet and if you are due for an upgrade or getting a new phone is definitely going to be worth it. For those with the iPhone 4S, aside from the form factor change and the general upgrades to be expected with one year newer hardware, it can be a difficult thing to cough up full price for the upgrade, since many users might not see much of a difference in performance. The iPhone 5 goes on sale on Sept 21st 2012 and can be pre-ordered on Sept 14th 2012, you can pre-order at Apple's website here.
