In previous iPhone 5 release date rumors, it was reported that the new smartphone by Apple had actually sold out of its launch day stock in just an hour, once pre-orders went live online. That pushed the availability of the iPhone to ship out back from one week to a wait time of two to three weeks. However, t's now being reported that some customers won't have to wait weeks to receive their order though and instead will get the phone on the actual launch day.
At the Apple Insider website, they are reporting a special order update email has gone out to customers from The Apple Store. Previously, many customers were told that due to the high demand of the phones, there would be a longer wait than just a week to receive their device. However, in this new update message, Apple tells the particular customer:
"We have some good news concerning your recent iPhone 5 purchase," the e-mail from the Apple Store reads. We expect it to be delivered to you on the first day of iPhone 5 availability — Friday, September 21. The delivery date we previously sent you was not accurate."
This certainly will make some customers' days as they were expecting a much longer wait for the newest Apple smartphone to arrive. It will begin selling in the real world on September 21, 2012, with customers expected to line up at the Apple Store and other retailers to get their hands on the item. However, those who don't want to wait in line can still pre-order a new iPhone 5 from the Apple website, Walmart, and other retailers to avoid the lines, but wait a few weeks for delivery.
