Every year Apple introduces a new iPhone model that is accompanied by numerous rumors and much speculation about what technology will be new in the Apple smartphone. This year, LTE and NFC were at the very top of the list. Since Wednesday, it has been confirmed that the new Apple iPhone 5 supports the new LTE technology in selected regions. This has already hailed criticism: "Where are the innovations," asks the net community.
The new Apple iPhone 5 was introduced last Wednesday, and it already seems to be a big seller. Yesterday, Apple spokesperson Nat Kerris said:
“We’ve been completely blown away by the customer response.”
Actual sales numbers from the company should be published in the coming days. In the Apple Store, the delivery time for the iPhone 5 is now two to three weeks. However, the new phone will still be available to purchase in stores on Friday, which is the official iPhone 5 release date. After the delivery time was initially thought to be one week, this quickly jumped to at least two weeks due to high pre-order demand.
So far, out of each new iPhone, Apple has sold more devices than all the predecessors combined. Should history repeat itself this time, more than 250 million copies will be sold. The technology blog TechCrunch, reported that the initial supply of the iPhone 5 was used up within an hour.
