Pre-order deliveries pushed back for new iPhone

Today at midnight was the first chance to order the new iPhone 5. Delivery date was promised on Sept 21st. Not so fast it appears. If you didn’t order in the first few hours chances are your delivery date is pushed back by one or two weeks as demand didn’t meet the supply.

During the day the Apple store encountered many technical issues and made for some the process of pre-ordering a long tedious task. The AT&T website was slow in loading reportedly taking up to five minutes just to log in. The bottom line is that the wait will be longer than the 21st for most.

In addition, in Miami the networks on all iPhone's were slow leading to speculations that in order to have a fast working phone you must get the new version. Many apps weren’t working and the GPS wasn’t loading properly on any network. Delivery dates aren’t confirmed but unless the phone was ordered within the first hour or so it is unlikely that you will see it until the very end of September or even sometime in October. Unless you go to the store on the release date and wait in the line, meaning a camp out from the night before and a day off work. Some complaints from those customers whom bought the iPhone online through the Apple store is that they have not received confirmation and some report shipping dates as late as the second week of October. All websites stated the original deliver date when checking out as September 21st. When the iPhone 5 actually arrive to those who pre-ordered it today is yet to see.
