With the long-awaited Apple iPhone 5 event confirmed at last, many Appleites are gearing up to wait in line for the iPhone 5 release date later this month. However a recently conducted poll suggests the new iPhone 5 may not be the hit Apple is expecting it to be.
An article at Forbes.com says "consumers may also have some ill will towards Apple after the company defeated Samsung in their domestic patent dispute," but a poll conducted by Business Insider asked the question readers:
“Do you think the iPhone 5 is ugly?”
Apple fans may be shocked to know that "more than 60 percent of the 2,400 people who responded answered yes." Readers were shown side-by-side photos of the current iPhone 4S model, and the "leaked" iPhone 5 photo, but to be fair, most iPhone polls have shown Apple to be highly favored.
Also, most of the polls about the iPhone 5 release date have not "shine Apple in a negative light," and are usually answered but a mostly Apple favored fan base. However Forbes questions whether the poll conducted by Business Insider reached out to a mostly Android loyal crowd. Perhaps they were focusing on fans of the Samsung Galaxy S III.
The battle between the Apple and Android communities probably will not end any time soon, but Apple has sent out press invites for their iPhone 5 event, so consumers will be able to learn which handset gains more sales in the end.
