The official iPhone 5 release date should soon be revealed, as it appears Apple will hold an iPhone 5 event next week. The company finally confirmed on Tuesday that they'll have an event on Wednesday, September 12th. It's believed the new smartphone will be unveiled then, with the phone available for use over a week later.
According to CNN Money, the company sent out official invites to the press which feature the date, the number "12," casting a shadow of a "5" on the image. The phone appears to be a year-in-the-making, as just last year the company was rumored to be working on the new iPhone 5. It's supposed to be faster, with a bigger display, and more features than before, including use of 4G wireless networks.
CNN Money reports that the Apple company has now sold 100 million iPhones in the last three full quarters since launching the iPhone 4S. They're expecting even more robust sales with this latest product though. Not only that, but Apple is expected to launch a smaller version of its tablet, dubbed "iPad Mini" by many, next month.
The Apple iPhone 5 event is scheduled for 10 a.m. Pacific Time in San Francisco on next Wednesday, September 12th. The arrival of the new smartphone to customers' possession is expected by September 21st, although the world will wait to hear it straight from the source next week.
