iPhone 5 release date: The new Apple iPhone 5 may face a ban on event launch day

According to unofficial preliminary leaks of the new Apple iPhone 5 designs, the Chinese manufacturer of the GooPhone i5 has replicated the external design of the new iPhone 5. Apple may now face a lawsuit because of this, as reported CNET. The cheap clone of the iPhone 5 is now patented and the manufacturer claims the outer form had arisen from its own research and development.

Yesterday, event invitations were sent to the media and on Sept. 12th the iPhone 5 will most likely be presented. But now there will be a legal dispute over the design of the brand new Apple device and you can blame it on the GooPhone I5 which was released in China. It seems clear that the cheap Chinese manufacturers have based the GooPhone I5 on copies of unpublished leaks and unofficial images of the new iPhone.

Apparently, this is a cheap clone of the Apple flagship, however, it does not prevent the producers from claiming that the design is theirs. Furthermore, the appearance of Android smartphones can be patented in China.

Will some of the iPhone 5 glory be stolen?

The only contrast to the previously published pictures by the Apple Smarlets, seems the difference in size of 0.5 inches. In the video for the GooPhone i5, the producer provides the most brazen Apple replica and also does a blatant comparison with the iPhone 4S. In broken English, it is specified that the GooPhone i5 design was officially patented. If this is proved to be true, Apple is threatened with a ban of the iPhone 5 on the Chinese market. This would seriously impact Apple profits because the Chinese market is key to the success of the iPhone 5.
