iPhone 5 release date rumors: Video shows new Apple iPhone 5 prototype leak

New video has surfaced online that reportedly shows the new iPhone 5 leaked prototype. According to rumor the iPhone 5 release date will be announced on September 12th at an unconfirmed Apple event.

An article at Digital Spy says "it is impossible to verify whether the handset shown in this latest video is genuine, [but] it does offer one of the most convincing glimpses at what to expect from the world's biggest technology firm this month."

The article, posted earlier today, has the video embedded which reveals a thinner handset with the front-facing camera moved to the center of the device, and "a speaker and a microphone on the very bottom of the handset," with the headphones jack also moved to the bottom. If this video is of the new iPhone 5, all the rumors about the smaller dock connector are true since the smartphone shown does have the 19-pin port instead of the 30-pin port on current iPhone models.

There are some rumors floating around which claim Apple has no intentions of announcing the new iPhone 5 release date this month. Since September 12th is just around the corner fans will know what to expect, or not expect, very soon.
