Samsung shows off Galaxy Note II to San Francisco press

Samsung Mobile USA held a product demo today at a swanky penthouse suite at the Mark Hopkins International hotel in San Francisco. Representatives of Samsung were on hand to discuss some cutting edge technology on this follow up to the popular Samsung Note. There is a media embargo on video and photos from this session until Tuesday, Sept 11 at 9 a.m. but specifications for this 5.5" quad-core driven smart phone were already released at IFA in Berlin.

Without getting into specifics, I can confirm that Samsung has managed to pack some very impressive technology into a device that is slightly larger without compromising much on weight on thinness.

This is not merely an update to an existing model. There are enough new features to qualify it as an upgrade. Samsung has made major improvements to both the hardware and the software suite which fully optimizes the innovative S Pen technology. Check back tomorrow after 9 a.m. to see photos, videos, and hand-on preview of exciting new features. With the Apple iPhone 5 press event scheduled just two days away in San Francisco, Samsung has managed to put Apple in the unenviable position of playing catch-up in smartphone features race. Check back after September 12 to see a iPhone vs Galaxy Note II head-to-head features breakdown.
