iPhone 5 release date rumors suggest new Apple iPhone 5 screen supplier is late

It appears a new iPhone 5 release date rumor has caused a frenzy online regarding whether or not Apple's new smartphone will be available next month. The latest report indicates one of the company's suppliers has yet to start mass-production of screens for the device. Should this be a cause for concern for the Apple company or those planning to buy the new smartphone?

According to Wall Street Journal, the Sharp company is behind in terms of being able to ship out LCD panels to Apple for the new iPhone 5. The blamed reason for the delay is rumored to be "manufacturing difficulties." However, the company has yet to give a clear indication of when it may begin to ship out the liquid crystal screens. Sharp is currently one of three companies that supplies the LCD screens along with Japan Display Inc. and LG Display Co. of South Korea. These other two companies have already started shipment of the screens to Apple.

A similar situation occurred earlier this year as Sharp delayed its shipment of screens for the current iPad. However, the good news there was that there were no supply shortages of the product. The new Apple iPhone 5 is being heralded by many as the next big thing in technology, expected to have massive sales. Apple is expected to make their official announcement of the product next month, with the release date rumored for September 21st.
